A House Divided
How ironic that the words of the founder of the Republican Party should ring so true for its future. Just like in the American Civil War, the Republicans have a conflict brewing that centers around which ideology will dominate the direction of the Party. While I'm no fan of the Right, I can't wait until the 2012 primaries. Spoiler Alert: If Bloomberg wins in 2012, the Republican Party will have come back strong and might even unseat Obama. If Romney or Giuliani win, they will coast for another century or two, until another Bush comes along. However, if Palin or even Huckabee win it, the Republican Party is going to have about as much clout as the Alaska Independence Party, and within 20 years they will go the way of the Whigs.
